did anyone not find certain aspects of the film really depressing?
like when mike paradinas tells us 'its all over' like we missed the boat or somthing...
i got the distinct feling that a lot of the perople on there were closing the doors to their little club....or are we bedroom producers really that shit? but on the other hand, most of the produers seemed really cool.

He was very rude to the organisers before throwing a strop and walking off halfway through his set, all because it wasn't loud enough.

like when mike paradinas tells us 'its all over' like we missed the boat or somthing...
i got the distinct feling that a lot of the perople on there were closing the doors to their little club....or are we bedroom producers really that shit? but on the other hand, most of the produers seemed really cool.

^ the point is that the film isn't a definitive reference on the music at all. I see it more of a time piece, specific only to the events and sounds featured at the parties shown in the movie. It shows a healthy scene around the music when it happens at the Wasted parties, and that's about it. Its good that some of the history was discussed, but the film and music now is more of a spectacle in the moment you hear it. Things change all the time. I thought the film was already a bit dated personally.

Who cares what Mike P thinks about "breakcore". I don't. And I'm not a fan of Mike P at his best because he releases breakcore related records on his label. I was kinda surprised he as included in the film as a reference, but i'm sure he knows some of the music and its history enough to warrant an opinion on it. Would it matter if say... Alec Empire was featured in the flick giving his opinion about the stuff? No.

Dj Scud? Maybe.

But other than that, anybody can make up their own mind on where, when, and IF the music is going anywhere. It doesn't take a film to do it.

im not a big fan of Mr P's music but in the uk at least, he does hold some sway. i have spoken to many produers here that consider planet mu the holy grail of record companies...the new warp. most are just starting out, but are inspired and they hope for the future. if this and other compaines close their doors on the artists they have inspired, for whatever reason, it could undo years of work and the scene can loose its momentum. ultmatly it will not be the producer, but the 'breakcore' fan who suffers.



its like the people in this film started the breakcore train rolling, it got goin real fast, they gave birth to some bastard children and are now staring to bail before the young learn how to control the train.
the kids realise that to try is futile. they don war paints, prey and sample frankie goes to hollyood. when all else fails, they start to fuck.

the boys give birth to more children through their penisis and the girls inplode into their own cunts (all acepct for Hecate who is in the back carrage, letting goths suckle on her teet while eating cornflakes, for she has no snatch). education is no longer considered a priority, so they now only know of jason forrest.
the breakcore train is getting faster, it overtook the gravy train a few days ago. but with its lack of direction, it derails and plows into the overkill tent at the glade.

limbs are everywhere, and not necessary attached to anybody or anything. sweat dripping off the cealing facilatates the flood of crimson that now flows out of the tent. all you can hear are screams and crys.
the sound police decided the volume levels are too high they start to seal club those who are not already dead....

and that ladies and genltemen, is my very stoned history of breakcore.

I just watched this and I thought it was pretty fun.

I was a little disapointed with Venetian's holier than though business. I always kinda figured he was a forerunning and a enthusiastic pusher of the movement. Although, towards the end I kinda worked it out. Whilst he was chatting about his new orchestral stuff, minus beats, you could tell he was pretty much flaking on something. A little bit of effort would have been nice...

All and all though, it was great to hear from people like Null for his enthusiams and Kid606 for his realist approach.

It's an intelligent scene and it's got so far to go, as long as the drugs stay away from interviews

venetian snares walked off, sound system in there was shit!!!! basically first the treble went dead then the bass went dead then it all went dead, so he picked up his cds and walked off, they also told him he wasnt aloud to use a mic..... and he was complainin about the shit sound system, it really wasnt loud enuff!!!! and yeah i was stood jus behind him, which was really cool.....

In the documentary Mr.Funk comes across as a spoilt rock'n'roller, but that hasn't affected his music-making abilities.
Bong-Ra's appearances made me go out & buy some of his stuff to replace my entirely illegally downloded collection. What a cool bloke.

Bong Ra always seems to come off as a genuine nice guy. I try and support him in his various guises cause I dig his style. He also puts out a lot of freebie stuff too. I really wished I could of went to his bad ass wedding bash....I'm hoping some recordings were made atleast.
