4Later

Postby noizetek » Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:28 pm

Any UK folk remember sitting up till all hours watching programs such as Bits, Vidz, The Trip, The Other Side etc...? Don't you think we should try and get that quality (!) of viewing back on our screens???
I for one have fond memories of coming home and watching the trip and being so imersed in the program (totally spannered of course) and becoming hooked! 4Later was supreme UK TV genius and the current state of televised fodder needs to be buried and forgotten about...

Or is this just me being sad? lol.

Haha quality! i remember 4later. Bits was one of my favourite fucking shows ever. Also used to watch TromaTV with their ridiculous low budget sci fi/horror films. Oh and house of rock... ah good memories. I was at secondary school when it used to be on and stayed up all night watching it. 2 hours sleep a night and then sleeping or drinking all weekend - the joys of being a teenager! What i liked about 4later was the vibe that it was tv that was essentially made by insomniacs, junkies and alcoholics for insomniacs, junkies and alcoholics. Nice one for mentioning it, more people need to experience the joy of 4later!

Fuck Yeah!!! Ah, the 'golden age' of 4. How I miss it. I seem to remember there was bits, vids and Oz all on in a row at some point. TV does not get better than that. They used to put some awesome films on 4 at night too.

So people do remember it!! Yeah t'was the biznezz...

"Noisy Mothers" was on ITV, it was formelly "Power Hour" then became "Raw Power" before Noisy Mothers...old school metal chart show...I remember seeing an Extreme Noise Terror demo video recorded in their garage on that show...not to mention John Peel's Sound of the Suburbs...

We need 4 Later back though.

Not a clue, it baffles me why Big Brother and the likes are so popular here, it generally just shows how many bellends we have populating this country in glorious technicolour...

I don think your grumpy...well, you might be but it's completly justified. c4
should cancil their entire playlist and concentrate on the simpsons, peep show and maybe a new show which allows the viewer to administer electric shocks to T4 presenters via the little red button.

it depresses me to think its still the best terrestial channel we have.
i dont even like tv, but i have to put it on because my cockatiel likes it... the cunt

Anyone remember movies, games and videos? Hell, even Gamesmaster with Patrick Moore, although that wasn't particularly late night viewing.

Crystal Maze however, I could watch re-runs of Ed Tudor Pole running around the Ocean zone all night long, intoxicated or otherwise.

I used to love the proper Kung Fu flicks they put on for ravers at about 3am. None of this crouchin tiger bullshit, Just crazy ninja's flyin around. Sure Channel 4 must of had some sort of deal with Pure Science @ Maidstone! Nothin better to wind down to. Now all u get is as u've said.. Watchin a bunch of cunts sleep!

Strange memory...on 4later there was a programme which contained clips from bizarre cult shows/movies from around the world...the name of it escapes me. But there was a programme they used to show a clip of every week and it was basically this japaneese dude pushing around a small child in a buggy and kicking ass. Nothing more, nothing less...absolute class.
