Sorry, I had a bit of a racist moment. The Dutch language is in fact very similar to the English language from a Linguistic point of views. There is much more in common with standard English (Maybe not the north Lancashire accent) and Dutch than say, English and Gael or English and Welsh. When you overhear Dutch folk talking in the background it can sometimes be mistaken for English at first because of the same mannerisms and pitch shifts etc.

Why am I telling you all this? I'm desperately letting everyone know that I don't hate the Dutch, but there is one barman who's trendy bar is situated near the red light district in Amsterdam, and he fucking hates the English. If he's still there, someone punch him in the cock for me.
