Well good! I'd like to see some one do a spectral analysis of the break to see if there are any relationships between the frequency content and mathematical principals.

i'm still pretty bored with amens

the ONLY way you could make an amen interesting again would be to make something with it that wasn't even drums anymore, which is pretty simple. so you would have amens but no one could tell they were amens, cause they woul;d sound like crickets raping sub-bass frogs or something. i wish more people used 808 cowbells

shit is old, science and mathmatics is not gonna make a break any better just because some nerd made a generic thesis on the internet.

i don't understand any of that shit that retard is talking about and i honestly don't care to.

the amen is just a (over hyped used and abused) sample, nothing more nothing less.

To be fair it has been used badly way too much but it is still imho, an a lot of other peoples, the most important break in dance music history. Pretty much all the good rave music of the early 90s was either spawned from it or influenced by it.
Don't get me wrong, I like a bit of techno, but a propper stabby amen just makes me rush like a bastad every time!

theres this guy called BT who was a pretty successful trance artist that makes a lot of surround-mixed ambient music these days. he uses the golden ratio in a lot of his music and its actually pretty interesting. if you want to check it out, the record is called "this binary universe." its not breakcore or anything-core, but its still good music.

I tend to agree with most too. When you start to hear a beat that widely used it's over. Car commercials, laundry detergent commercials, diaper commercials everybody is using it still. But to be fair it is probably the most famous break ever, i mean look even N.W.A. used it on the song straight outta Compton. They just slowed it down instead of making it faster. Alec Empire (Atari teenage riot, solo work too) probably wouldn't have a career if this beat didn't exist. Also I own the record by the Winstons that it's on (45). Though I just can't bring my self to sample it. What the hell am i gonna do with it that hasn't been done already.

By chance i stumbled across this image...the website its from is down, but the image is called 'golden ratio masks' I can only assume this is a face drawn using the golden ratio.
You could say this in the face of the amen.
