Speedbass and Breakcore
I don't know that how many of you have listened or heard speedbass, but IMO it sounds a lot like the breakcore, but maybe with a humorous twist. How many of you have ever heard of speedbass? Do you or do you not affirm my views about speedbass's and breakcores resemblances?
is that what they're calling it now?
No, I think nowadays the speedbass movement (or something like that) consists mostly of spitbass and post-speedbass (don't ask, don't tell). More information (check the dead forum) @ Speedbass.net
Isn't speedbass some stupid joke started a couple of years ago on the internet?
Yes, as I have understood the whole speedbass is a kind of a joke, but seriously man, I love that shit. Some tracks are even pretty mashcorish, i.e. Bathyst - Biotron Tanaka (can be found at speedbass.net with a quick search).
Yeah, well it's nowadays just shitty. In the former days of it's glory there were some preetty sweet tuunes. For example, Bathyst - Biotron Tanaka, Jitteburg Devil - Swing Track #2, DJ Tendraw And The Gypsies Dog - Vocal Tripe (Im Gunna Hurt You Mix) etc. Try use the search method for those artist's in the Speedbass.net.
Oh, geez. Well, we shouldn't even start arguing about as trivial matters as subjective values and such. If it makes you feel better, go listen to Merzbow or something, or better yet, torture helpless japanese schoolgirls.
