that's true, when i first listened to breakcore, the only way i could describe it was drum and bass that was heavily distorted.

but after listening for a few years it just doesn't seem as crazy, so when you hear a breakcore track that makes you go mad, it has to be seriously special.

i personally don't care about whether a genre is going mainstream or not, so long as it doesn't get ruined, but i think people like the softer tracks like aaron spectre, and for example the hungarian album by vsnares, because it is more mainstream. like you could really easily get into aaron spectre with stuff say look out fi liar etc if you had a background in drum and bass/jungle.

music doesn't have to be hard to be good, but in the case of breakcore, if it isn't hard enough... listen to some proper breakcore init.

i do like aaron spectre mind, try and listen to his live sets though as i reckon that's where his talent shines. try and find some set he did in boston, beat research or something like that.

i can understand why youd think lowly of him
when i first heard his musical genre and taste i really dident enjoy it

but if you take the time to listen to his albums and
get down to the brass tacks.
he has some serious abstract skill.
