I Hate Breakcore

Extratone reminds me of binaural beats -- the beats that allegedly synchronize or "entrain" your brain to create waves of specific frequency.

Any thoughts or feelings on extratone?

yeah exactly...

you can say there is all this amazing theory, and math behind it... but you know people are just making it so they can have beets as fast as possible, and give artsy people a reason to like it

Are artsy people the ones that like it? I got the impression it was something splittercore tweakers graduate to. Like, only meth lab owners need apply. I'm fascinated, nonetheless.

Speedcore and Splittercore are sounding interesting. I think I'll mix in some speedcorish insane beat for my next track.

I think it can be quite cool sometimes
especcially the louder extratone/breakcore/speedcore hybrids like Kurwastyle have some rippin' tracks

I just listened to an entire Splitter/Extratone/whatever the fuck comp, and one of the few tracks I found even remotely listenable was the Kurwastyle Project one.

Even then it's all just really, really, really quickly retriggered gabber kicks with tons of distortion + vocal samples. Shit if you ask me.

It's gash, it tends to be the last resort of failed Hardcore djs who were unable to create even remotely well produced gabber tracks.

Saying that, I like a lot of noise music so there we go

I like noise. There's a place called the Dream House on Church St. in New York that blares constant noise in "just intonation." It's an art installation -- to me it's just glorious.

If you ask me, there's a big difference between extratone and what's going on at the MELA Dream House. But I'll agree that the Dream House installation is glorious
