what about metal breakcore?

Postby helix » Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:35 pm

ive noticed a lot of metal ridden breakcore ever since drumcorps, what do you reckon to it? ive never really been into metal that much except for when i was 14 when i listened to pantera, melvins, metallica, ect...i listened to a lot more punk when growing up...may have to do a punk remix! wonder if it would work? maybe a dirty dfl mash up! get in, im gonna give it a try

i think the idea's been around for a very long time (metal in speedcore's been around for a while), though it might not have caught on earlier. drumcorps just happened to make a whole project out of it first. i used to be in a band with some friends before and because we had such a hard time getting a drummer that wasn't a dick, we just decided to use a drum machine instead, so we were making some kind of speedcore death n' roll...if you could call it that.
but you are right, there's alot more of it around. can see noize creator and dj bazooka doing similar projects. i think drumcorps's aim was simply to just make grind and since he used electronic beats, it fell into the breakcore thang quite nicely.
i think there's alot of potential to the hybrid, so i'm intrigued as to what will come of it...there'll be those who take it seriously and those who jump on the bandwagon...but should be able to filter out some good shit. let's see.

all my favorite metal is sloppy, poorly produced, and fast, and usually recorded about 20 years ago. imo, most of the metal influencing this recent tide of metal-infusion is overproduced chugga-chugga trigger kick let's eat at the mall food court metal. so yeah, i guess i'm not that into it.

A lot of Matal samples can be found on Kamikazeclub 1 from 1999. The breakcore of those Days was caled somthing like Jungle/Hardcore.
Jou can also find simalair projects on the label DHC from 1994.

And abouth Punk Breakcore. Pasenger of Shit is the ruller of al Fanys and dicks.

I Use Metal Samples All The Time!
But I Mix The New "Trigger Kick" Shit And Old Stuff.
I Also Incorporate Powerviolence Stuff Into My Trax.
But Then I Layer It With A Nice Glaze Of Hip Hop Vox.
I Find Myself Not Liking the Majority Of "Metal Breakcore" Or Any Breakcore Really.
Which Is Weird I Guess.
It Always Ends Up Being Hardkicks Over And Amen Break With Someone Screaming "Bombaklat" Or Whatever It Is.

I very like Hardcore Punk and extreme metal production and I often use sample of my favorite bands in my traxxx. Go listen "Hard to be a Guy" (sample of Walls of Jericho), Punxxx Alive (megamix with Zeke, The Opressed, les Puceaux, Converge & Victims) or "Funky Crackhead Shit" (with sample of Black Flag).

So in france we have an incredible band called WHOURKR ! GO LISTEN IT NOW !!!! IDM (Iteligent Death Metal like they said hehehe)
