i just recently saw The Wrestler Starring Mickey Rourke & Marisa Tomei

Description:

This is a drama about an aging professional wrestler, decades past his prime,
who now barely gets by working small wrestling shows in VFW halls and as a
part-time grocery store employee. As he faces health problems that may end
his wrestling career for good he attempts to come to terms with his life
outside the ring: by working full time at the grocery store, trying to
reconcile with the daughter he abandoned in childhood and forming a closer
bond with a stripper he has romantic feelings for. He struggles with his new
life and an offer of a high-profile rematch with his 1980s arch-nemesis, The
Ayatollah, which may be his ticket back to stardom.

Me and my flat mate are closet WWE fans still, despite it being dumbed down and full of even worse acting than back in the olden days when I were a lad. We've got the wrestler downloaded already, gonna stick it on Friday night maybe after Smackdown, it's supposed to be very good, and they're running a storyline at the moment in whch Rourke insulted Chris Jericho and now they're having a little whinge fest at one another. No word of lie.

actually one of my favourite movies of all-time is a crow movie.

but honestly i can't think of anything more boring than a movie about a retired wrestler.

I don't understand how people can hate on this movie just because it's about wrestling, which is admittedly gay. The thing that everyone fails to realize is that this film was directed by Darren Aronofsky. The guy also directed Pi and Requiem for a Dream and he's doing a remake of Robocop. Aronofsky kicks ass so it goes without saying the The Wrestler kicks ass!

you'd be surprised, it's not like a wrestling show made into a movie, it's basically what is is, dude struggles to to make it about with his life being that he's a retired wrestler who is stuck in the 80's

back in the 80's Wrestling was the shit on a saturday and sunday afternoon.

Um not everything Aronofsky has done is awesome. Two words: The Fountain.

& Requiem For A Dream wasn't all that, either.
