I have this one Armand Van Helden record with a didgeridoo and I used to do scratch routines over it.

I actually have one of them mouth harps(jew harps what they call em in my area). I may have to hunt where I put it and break it out.

yea the waterphone is amazing, but the people who make them charge insane amounts of money. usually STARTING at 600 bucks for anything bigger than the size of a tin can.

600 bucks is nothing for a good instrument, in fact everything under 600 is usually crap
my guitar for example was 3000 bucks, 2nd hand (but its brilliant)

i agree, you get what you pay for after a certain point when
your interest goes past just killing time. you get addicted to tonality !
been making music for about 9 years now and slowly went
from starting with only a computer, to ending up with 95% analog hardware
no 600 isnt much to spend on an instrument at all if you get use
out of it and it has a broad range of application. or its the only
thing that makes 'that' sound.

yea good thread though. i love to see tangible instruments.
lot of people dont seem to grasp that vibrations and electricity
are not the same as a digital algorithm.
