How do u mash up vocals? Do u use any specific plugins?

Ive done it only with the FL-Slicer in fruity loops.

Well i personally suck at it, but a friend of mine who is fairlly good at it, uses slycex for it.

Only 09, 02 and 01 and 0E commands in renoise. That's all you need, if you're tracker user. As far i know, they same everywhere

Agreed, i really don't use it that much, but it it is a good addition.

for making hard kicks like, radium or adrenokrome, can you make them very clean with just ableton? because I've made some really good kicks but they don't really keep there warmth and power when I bring in other channels, does anybody know some good effect for making a really clean kick??

I just mangle vocals depending on what I want done. Sometimes I'll trigger stuff by hand and just use custom effects to do stuff to em by hand. Other times I'll run em thru vocoders, effects, filters and keep multi sampling over and over to make it sound the way I want and more mine.

sometimes when it comes to vocals, on ableton i just run like 8 channels of the db glitch and other such vsts and then program each channel for a specific effect then based on the pronunciation of the words ill cut it up through parts of each of the channels

i dont have any good vocoders though
any link to a vst of a good one would be much appreciated

Being an FL-fag, I use mainly use Fruity-Slicer for that.
If it doesn't slice them up how I want them, though, I'll do it myself using audacity and a lot of patience.

That sounds like a lot of work. If I'm reading that right you could do it a lot easier in arrangement view. You could throw all the effects onto the same scene as the sample, then just cue each device to turn on and off on the parts of the file you want, thru the scene commands under the VST's name.

As for vocoders, the only one I've really used is Vokator by NI and its got so many options it boggles the mind. But you could just wait out for ableton live 8, which will have a vocoder as one of the many new effects. I got to fool around with it a lil bit in beta.

oh, but i do use the arrangement view for that. I find that turning it on and off while using the glitch as an effect is a little stressing on the eyes. I find i can organize it much better if i have a bunch of different channels open

oh and i am definately lookin forward to ableton 8

then again i probably wont let that get in the way of that Vokator you speak of, sound like good fun

I got a friend who will go into arrangement view and set the loop markers for a section he wants to do some glitching. He'll then route another scene to do the recording output and press play. He'll record till he gets a few nice recordings and then just go and cut out the parts he liked and use em for his track.
