Breakcore ISN'T dead

Breakcore ISN'T dead

A lot of folk are saying that Breakcore is dying, or that it is "on it's way out", as if was 'in' at some point. I'd like to point out that this is Orca shit.
Most of the people that I know who are saying "nah it's on its way out" are the people who are "switching to Dubstep" or "switching to Darkstep". The kinda people who wagon hop are usually the kinda people that I don't want producing Breakcore any way. To my knowledge, Breakcore never had a trendy or quirky appeal to the mainstream, and even though a handful of plebs recognised the genre name when it was bought up in conversation, Breakcore was by no means accessible to a mainstream audience at any point. It doesn't chart, it rarely gets radio play, let's be honest now, it's pretty much confined to isolated circles of friends, myspace and crew podcasts. Breakcore will only remain if people want it to remain, and those people are YOU! So when you say that Breakcore is "dying" then it's only going to completely vanish if you accept whatever bell curve you've conjured up in your head and go along with it. Here are the facts, and they override anything I may have said in the past, now that I have had time to reflect like:
1. Breakcore isn't going out, because it was never in.
2. Breakcore has existed (at least in a rudimentary form) for donkey's years now, well before people saw DJ Scotch Egg at some bar in Brighton two years ago, I think it can weather the Dubstep storm.
3. Dubstep isn't "replacing" Breakcore, the two have coexisted for yonks. Trendy faggots seem to have sketched up this imaginary timeline in which Breakcore stopped last year, and Dubstep started. This fantasy is grossly ill-informed. Dubstep has been around for ages, it didn't start last year when you saw Milanese at dubstival in Leeds. If Breakcore is dying in your local area, it's because the people who were producing it were insignificant, trendy garden strimmers.
4. Dubstep IS becoming more popular by the day, and because of its simplistic nature (relative to Breakcore's song structures at least) is already destined to gain more mainstream appeal. This doesn't mean however that Dubstep is going to 'replace' Breakcore, because as I said the two have coexisted and overlapped for some time now. It's also being used as a shit excuse to swap from Breakcore straight to Dubstep. From experience, genuine Breakcore musicians pool in from so many influences that they would never "go dubstep" or restrict themselves to any other narrow sub-genre of dance music.

who cares what 'most people' say? sounds cliche but it's true, why would you care what other people say and think? fuck 'em. your vision on breakcore, or anything else, isn't meant to be made by others. just by yourself.

if some1 thought that dubstep was replacing breakcore...they would have to be one dumb cunt. theyre completley different genres that were around at completley different times and lets be honest dubstep stemmed from early grime music (The two step beat etc.) Theyre not even comperable.

But how can you say that dubstep has a simplistic beat similar to breakcore's song structures? some breakcore has extremley technical switches and beats.
