Breakcore and 'mainstream' rock bands
Since the mainstream music thread is gone, I'm posting here anyways
So, I am here listening to Team Sleep, a very very good alternative rock band by Chino Moreno, and they are very electronic, there is even a turntablist as an official member, and they have a track called Staring at the Queen that is pretty much Breakcore, not very agressive, but enough to me
And there are also the Matt Walker remixes for some Smashing Pumpkins songs, don't know if it got released, but they sound like a proto-breakcore to me (they date back to the second half of the 90s). I think nowadays he is playing with Morrissey, but he recorded some drums to the pumpkins on the adore album.
Any thoughts?

here in germany theres a show in the channels regulated by public law which is called "electronic reporter" (in german "elektrischer reporter")
the intro is pretty breakcorish, venthough its very short.
If u wanna have a look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6jD5zDCilo
besides hta, there was a famous german gameschannel which has used many different breakcore in his mats

Team Sleep were ace. 6 years old that release is. While you relate it to Breakcore at the time they probably related it to Breakcore's big sister, IDM.
Patrick Wolf used alot of alternative beats, time signatures and noise in his early releases. Especially a track called "The Childcatcher". He also did a track on a Planet Mu compilation called a "A boy like me" The guy is now doing tracks with the voice over of Tilda Swinton, ha.
These artists probably don't see their music influenced by breakcore but like I said, IDM, which if you look around is pretty commercial already.

I remember seeing some breakcore in news media also, but i think it was on the radio. breakcore seems to be so appropriate to it

That is correct, I think teamsleep is very IDM, but that track in particular sounds a lot like breakcore, but my point is that IDM (and consequentily breakcore) is getting a lot of room within mainstream rock bands (Radiohead is the best example) and I that's great cause they usually do a great job, the only bad consequence about it is that popularity has a price
