I did a show with Xanopticon back in Janruary that actually popped off pretty well. In a small college town in the middle of no where (Kent OH). It was blizzarding out that night as well.

I honestly believe anyone interested in doing shows should really shoot for the small towns with the mind-numbingly bored youngsters. There is a reason those kids don't get out to the city much and it's because they know it's all bullshit.

Your not going to break any ground in a big city where you're surrounded by pansies posing like pretty little princesses for their flyers.

Small towns with lots of bored angry youth. That's where you throw down and turn some heads.

In theory anyway.

Doing another show on June 6th with Wisp.

Anyone agree or disagree?

To go a bit further on topic I guess, the EDM scene in america right now is the equivolent to the 80's hair metal plague. A bunch of ass clowns prancing around playing pussy bullshit that boys and girls can do coke to and pretend to be important.

Honestly, during 80's hairmetal, you had the whole goth thing going on, which was the equivolent to the emo-kids today. A very self-centered, self-loathing lifestyle.

What heppened though?

What happened to the goth shit though? It almost seems like all those kids mutated and said "No, fuck this, I'm alright. It's all these other douchebags and the world that's fucked up." Than they all raged out to some nirvana and broke some shit. At the same time, all the hair metal bands were OD-ing, dying and realizing how bad they suck.

Just another theory though I guess.

It's all about paradigms I guess.

On point^^

I can remember being in high school and rocking the fuck out to Doormouse's "414" and ATR "Sick to Death". Everybody else was like "what the fuck are you doing? Check out this Crystal Method track instead." I think at that point I kind of drew a line and decided I was on the right side of it. I don't know, your post just made me think that maybe a lot of people have forgotten what it's like to be an angry, bored and bitter teenager and maybe that really is who the target audience should be.

Damn. Maybe that's the whole problem right there. Everybody's holed up in their rooms listening to all this music and saying "fuck all those poser ass retarded motherfuckers." And no one bothers to go out. That's pretty much the case with me anyway. I'm so used to everyone in my area being into shitty music and fashion and ipods and fucking celebrity gossip and egos that I don't even bother anymore. I can't rationalize wasting time with people I can't stand when there's a shitload of music out there to be discovered.
