I say yes, but it's a fine line between genius and shit. I like the idea of chopping up brutal stuff and making it into even more brutal stuff, but I was listening to Bong-Ra's 'Full Metal Racket' album the other day and it was just pissing me off what he did with the Slayer parts, just laying amen fills over them. Pretty weak, especially compared to Deathstorm. Other than Slayer I haven't really heard much metal-metal in breakcore anyway, more like mostly grind and hardcore...nobody's sampling Iron Maiden, Manowar, Judas Priest etc, I presume because they're not particularly brutal or sick enough. I think there should be more Metallica-stealing just on principle. I read somewhere once that the snare sound from Sad But True cost like 2 million dollars...

The fusion between metal and breakcore was obvious because there are both the most brutal extreme dark structure of sound and also the speed.
Chek out the new remixes of "Randomatik blast" or chek out "Drumcorpse".

tbh i think that anything that you want can belong in it... surely the fact that there isnt really barriers is what makes 'breakcore' such a special thing? theres badly done attempts at things of everything if u get me, its kinda subjective imo

i have sampled soulfly and korn on many occassions and some french grind bands

I think everything works in breakcore, remember in breakcore there are no barriers or limits. Not even the sky is the limit :)

Peace

my opinion is why not? genre's combine themselves all the time, and especially with breakcore being such a diverse form of music anyways all it will do is spark some new life into it, make something somewhat original which is extremely hard to do now adays...
but thats just my opinion, and usually im completely full of shit.

people should be able to put whatever they want into their music. style wars. like the movie. except instead of ny graff, its samples. and instead of dondi, its carl crack. right on.

i really don't care for metal in breakcore to be honest, but people are always gonna find away to incorporate any style of music into their craft how ever they can.

the main reason i stopped listening to music with lyrics was because i didn't care for what people had to say in their songs.

i like the fact that people can express how they feel in a song without any words or even lyrics
