I Hate Breakcore

Heres a laugh for anyone into (or not into) metal. Its a grindcore cover of Russian-lesbian-pop-act Tatu made by The Berzerker. I mean, whatthefuck was he playing at???? I used to be a fan and they still make brutal albums, but they sort of suck dick since they released their own label and started making crap like this.

Why this has anything to do with breakcore? They use distorted 909 kicks and mingle bits of D&B into the tracks. Its actually Cybergrind, but hey. Saying that, this actually might make a good breakcore mix

WTF, berserker has done some really good shit.

And they play grind-core, wich is sort of half of break-core and that is just another reason we should care about them!

I read about this on the former Relapse board a while back, but I just can't bring myself to click on it...I love the self-titled album, but everything after that just sounds like bro-core to me.

you don't think it's pk for artists to explore out of the realm that made them who they are?

god there was this one band who was named after a bunch of insects that did that and never went anywhere.

fuck i forgot that name of the band and it's bugging me.

some one will prolly beat me to it before i can think of it

Was it The Locust?

The difference here is that The Berzerker (in my eyes anyway) has a solid reputation for a particular style and creative tangent which fans like myself enjoy. Luke Kenny made hes "Ps" through gabber techno and to combine his skills with metal is just great. And for that the band does have a core of experimentation which is vital for creativity.

BUT...........

When you make covers of euro-pop bands, Russian lesbian or not, it will sound utter shite and even insulting to most of the fans. Its not as if theyve made a spur-of-the-moment, electronically mashed up, jokingly over cliche'd mix for a laugh that might make it to a dirtchamber compilation (or just a free MP3). No, theyve managed to make a HD video for it, copied the lyrics word-for-word and are having talks to release it on the next album.

To me this is just a poor stunt. Mr Kenny's lost himself a fan
