i've been listening to breakcore for a few weeks now....

and reading this forum and breakcore and everything about it really pisses me off.

the sheer "random for the sake of being random" bullshit makes me want to stab some of the posters here with a screwdriver. is it just a coincidence that so many people who post here happen to like disgusting things that are meant to shock people? or are these fucking cunts so brain dead that the only bit of individuality they have revolves around creating random posts and music that requires no thinking but instead relies on just hoping for the fucking best.

why the hell are so many tracks uploaded by users just fucking noise? i mean anybody can include a crappy over-used vocal sample, throw in a couple of breaks with glitch and retrigger effects and then to top it off just sprinkle a fucking distorted 909 all over the place.

rhythm, melody, structure? who needs it right?

music fucking needs it. i mean i can deal with the no structure thing. i think most people can. but when there is just no fucking rhythm and no melody then it just turns into noise, yes the "genre" noise. that is not music because it lacks musical elements. sound experiments would be a more apt title.

so yes i'm asking do people here embrace the random, chaotic nature of breakcore. do you deny its existance. or do you make/listen to breakcore that isn't random but instead very technical and refined in its creation and execution.

Sometimes the rape and death jokes are pretty reminiscent of the garbage you find on 4chan. There is a fine line between being witty and satirical and just being a fucking retard. Sometimes I also find the same rape and death themes in the music to be pretty monotonous too; album covers pasted in satanic symbols and bleeding goats being raped because apparently the imagery alone is funny, or song titles that consist of baby rape themes.

However I can't really hammer the music itself, if a song is just a load of noise, it's probably because that's what the artist likes to do, or because they're still learning the ropes. Breakcore is such an open genre that you've got to pool influences from everywhere, and if you like to sample things and make a wall of static sound then go for it if it makes you happy. If you don't like it, don't listen to it, you can't really argue fairer than that. Sometimes random forum posts keep the place alive, or at least inject a bit of humour in to an otherwise banal scene full of the afore mentioned obligatory satan references. So if someone fires up a random topic about some zany news article they've found, or some funny fetish porn site they've found, i'm really not going to lose any sleep over it if I didn't find it funny.

Jou got a lot of hate in jou. 1 of the reasons we are wat we are is that we dont want normal (boring) people to like breakcore. For would breakcore ever get meanstream It wil surly dy.
On a normal forum talking abouth, rape, murder, Horse sex and dudes wit a pusy would get jou instantly baned.
Now... becouse of its extreme nature of its contense (and breakcore is a extreme group of musick) that most of the time such things are a insperational thing for its musick.

Just dont thake the stuf to serious. Most of us have some restraint and most of the jokes are abouth our self and should not be taken to serious.

I had a bit of a rethink last year regarding making choons, technical and perfect is the definatly the way!
even if a great song your listening to sounds random and chaotic, 9/10 times the producer has spent ages on that tiny little bit that probably sounded like a mistake.

I think the key is making something that sounds a bit like human error, but making it technically and musically perfect.

most of the best pieces of experimental music in the world, no matter how strange and dischordant, usually fits some sort of scale/rule.

Breakcore as a concept is pretty open to individual interpretation, although it seems like a lot of people interpret it as a juvenile, testosterone-filled ritalin stepchild of IDM, that tries too hard to be the new punk. If you want maturity, music theory and artistic merit, IDM may be what you're actually looking for in the electronic underground. That said, it does seem like there are certain expectations and criteria now for something to fit into the breakcore category, and that sucks. It was never supposed to be like that, but it's happened anyway.

Ladyscraper is not something I would call breakcore, nor is Deathstorm, or Passenger of Shit. I consider them to be much more cybergrind than breakcore. As far as I'm concerned, the genre never really existed, everybody just thought it should after Drumcorps/Grist.
