All good metal died with punk.
As stated earlier all metal is now is a bunch of WoW geeks who think they're badass.

It seems to me that tight pants and pre-pubescent vocals are what the "scene" is considering metal nowadays, I say burn an emo kid, anyone with me?

Lamb Of God, Machine Head, Mastodon?

too fucking right. apparently playing shit hardcore, with pinch harmonics, makes it 'progressive'

I keep a bunch of Earthtone9 cd's in my bag so when emo dicks ask for that shit in the club where I DJ, so I can educate them.

Also, anyone who thinks Bring Me the Horizon, Cancer Bats and Job for a Cowboy are good has no right to an opinion on music.

People need to listen to more Saxon!

Death/deathgrind vocals are hipster fashioncore dujour these days, as are hardcore breakdowns and slam/mosh bridges. The best band of the 00's decade is easily Behold...The Arctopus: www.myspace.com/beholdthearctopus
Tech as hell with no vocals = win

Also, Electroquarterstaff is really good:
www.myspace.com/electroquarterstaff
Completely over the top riffage-dominated rhythm-shred with 3 guitarists; also vocal-free
