sleep paralysis what's your story?
i can recall having this Frightening Experience on two occasions, one was when i was in 8th grade after i had just fucked with a ouija board back in 94 trying to see if i could talk to Kurt Cobain.
i took a nap and awoke from it, i thought i was being punished by god for playing it, i could see and i could barely breath but i could not for the life of me move my fucking body, i then about 30 seconds maybe later awoke from it scared as fuck.
the last time i remember having it was when i went to a friends house after working the grave yard shift, i took a nap at me friends house.
i woke up once again able to see and not speak, i wanted to fucking yell at the top pf my lungs for my friend to hear me who was just about 3 feet away from me playing video games on the floor and i could not make a sound, so this time i tried to get smart with it being that i can only do two things which was to think and breathe.
i then made weird loud snoring sounds which did not capture my friends attention, i then went back to sleep thinking i was gonna die.
here is actual footage of some one who was experiencing it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omzsLqbgRaU
and some chick talking about her exprience

From Wiki
Sleep paralysis is a condition characterized by temporary paralysis of the body shortly after waking up (known as hypnopompic paralysis) or, less often, shortly before falling asleep (known as hypnagogic paralysis).[1]
Physiologically, it is closely related to the paralysis that occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is known as REM atonia. Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the bodily paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully aware, but unable to move. In addition, the state may be accompanied by hypnagogic hallucinations.
More often than not, sleep paralysis is believed by the person affected by it to be no more than a dream.[citation needed] This explains many dream recountings which describe the person lying frozen and unable to move. The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely fanciful, or dream-like, objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision.
Symptoms
The primary symptom of sleep paralysis is partial or complete skeletal muscle paralysis during the hypnopompic or hypnagogic states. In other words, it is the sense of being aware that one is unable to move or speak while falling asleep or waking up. Sleep paralysis may also be accompanied by hypnagogic hallucinations.[2] These hallucinations can be auditory, tactile, and/or visual. The person affected by sleep paralysis may have trouble breathing, as if something was standing on top of his chest. Combined with visual and auditory hallucinations, this can make the person feel scared of an evil presence, such as a witch (therefore the name "Old Hag Syndrome"). Sufferers of sleep paralysis often report intense feelings of terror and dread after witnessing such a "malevolent presence" or "intruder" in a familiar setting such as a bedroom.
If a polysomnograph is taken, at least one of the following will be shown: skeletal muscle tone suppression, REM sleep at sleep onset, or dissociated REM sleep. The paralysis can persist anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes before the person is able to either return to REM sleep or to become fully awake[2]. If the person returns to REM sleep yet remains fully aware, they are likely to enter lucid dream state.[3]

a majority of the population gets it at some point in their life, and unfortunately the patterns of the sleep cycle are persistant and genetic i believe, being the more often you have this the more often you probably have periods of either sleepwalking or sleeptalking
did you know if you ask someone a question while theyre sleeptalking they're always give you a truthful answer, pretty interesting stuff

I've suffered from Sleep Paralysis on many occasions. I've had it intensely enough to make me fearful of sleeping as a whole.
There is so many different theories as to why it happens and what is actually happening when it does. I am unclear of any paranormal certainties linked to sleep paralysis. Although when I speak to people, it is more common than not that pretty much everyone experiences something similar (sense of a demonic presence, the sound of shuffling foot steps, the feeling of being strangled, hunted or taunted).
That, I find very bizarre.
One of the most intense times I endured it was after a really complex lucid dream I was having about a heroin addicted, a-social poet whom would ironically resonate the feeling of his terror and neglect in and around the towns market stalls on a Sunday. After following him around, watching him manipulate the public, tapping into their moralistic behaviour and tweeking it. I bestowed some thoughts and decided I wanted to leave. The whole scene melted, I was left alone in an eternal nothingness and the poet had turned solely into a baritone distorted voice that was telling me to give up and let go. After some much fighting with this, I decided, fuck it. Stopped breathing, plunged into a downward spiral of anti gravity and hit the bottom. I'd arrived in hell, I was awake at this moment although totally paralysed and I was hearing this voice, distorted voice, with the lowest pitch coherent enough to still be able to make out.
This explanation is isn't half as in depth as the experience it's self but having been a while ago, it's pretty vague in my memory. Nevertheless, still pretty fucked up.
I find it happens when I'm overly tired and not slept in days, when I am dehydrated (drinking a glass of water before bed helps) & when I sleep on my back.
I get pretty decent Night terrors also.
I written a track about sleep paralysis, sampled a documentary about it and wrote the track, the morning after it had just happened to me. I think I captured the experience pretty well.

i've had something happen a few times over the years, where i "wake up" and i'm in the room i fell asleep in but i'm obviously halluciinating and there's dark spectres of "light" flying around and i can't move. sometimes it's accompanied by voices in foreign tongues that seem to be transmitting from somehwere else in the world, usually i get the feeling they're from northern africa (don't ask me why). i've always been a fan of hp lovecraft so maybe that's why these experiences have never really bothered me (beyond the initial surprise at what's going on) haha!

this must be some right of passage for our age group. i must know 50 people, including myself, who tried to contact kurt cobain with a ouija board in the mid 1990'sone was when i was in 8th grade after i had just fucked with a ouija board back in 94 trying to see if i could talk to Kurt Cobain.

You know, this is a is really hard thing to explain when you havent felt before.
It is scary at some points, but do you guys have the feelling that you can manipulate it at some point?, must be weird question, but sometimes it feels like i can stear it.
