hello, i'm new to the site of course, blah, blah, blah. i'm a metalhead, death metal specifically, and i'm also new to this particular kind of music. i never really got into electronic music at all and i'm completely lost in all the different genre names and tags and such. i'm pretty overwhelmed getting into this all at once but it's obvious that being a death metalhead that i'm really into fast music . i'm also into doom metal too, slow tempo metal but i prefer death. i have very wide, broad range musical tastes so pretty much anything you turn me on to i'll like to a certain extent, but for this kind of music specifically, i will definitely prefer the faster stuff. am i corrent in assuming that genre names, to a certain extent, have to do with the speed, beats per minute or whatever? i'll listen to whatever you suggest but i have a feeling that, for me, speed is where it's gonna be at. any explaination of terms, tags, genres, styles, would really help me out and if you can give examples of stuff to check out too that would be so awesome! EDUCATE ME!

now, a little bit about myself. i live in central florida, USA. i'm a 26 yr old father of 2 and happily married for over 4 1/2 yrs so far. some people might call me a hippie i guess. i recycle, i do the whole save the earth thing, to a greater extent than pretty much anyone i know, and i'm not boasting i'm just stating it as a fact. i eat well, no dairy or meat (i'm a vegan). i jog and don't do any hard drugs, maybe some psychedelics or pain pills or something but not much of that stuff. now that i have kids i mostly just smoke weed. i don't drink, either. i love everything from modest mouse to 311 to cannibal corpse and everything in between. i'm very easy going and i firmly believe in tolerance in regards to other people's beliefs. i don't give a shit if you eat meat, hate metal, and litter all over the place. it's your decision to do what you want and i will never preach about what i believe unless someone is genuinely interested or curious. but i also expect you to not bash, make fun of, tell me i'm wrong, or convince me that your way is the right way. i will NEVER do that to you and i expect the same respect back. wouldn't it be great if EVERYONE could agree to disagree?
