Calling all I H8 Breakcore members - please read

Postby djtheblade » Thu Oct 29, 2009 5:57 pm

Ok, so I emailed a couple of the forum admins a while back and never heard from them, but fuck it i'm gonna do this shit any way. Basically the story goes that I've recently acquired part-ownership of Marionette records, and after a long period of inactivity me and the other new managers are planning on driving it big time (relatively speaking). One of the first few things we're planning on doing is a compilation, it will probably be a free compilation but we will be looking for some hot new talent.

I know what you're all thinking, yawn, just another net label, but we don't want to be another sociopath (no offense to any sociopath organisers on here, hell even i've released on it in the past). We don't want to release 12 albums a day though, what we do want is maximum talent and/or quality. Doesn't matter if you can't jam like Snares, it's the heart that counts and if your heart is there it will show in the music. So, if anyone is up for submitting tracks or entire demos then send some shit my way.

If I get enough good submissions we may release an exclusive compilation just for I hate Breakcore members, because I H8 Breakcore could become a much larger crew with chapters all over the planet if some of us actually got off our backsides and printed a few daft stickers or something. Any way, send your VERY BEST to me guys, I really wanna hear it and I really wanna have a blast with this one.

My email; djtheblade@hotmail.co.uk

Send individual mp3s or albums/zips if you like. Let's do it peeps. Safe.

PS Marionette is in the process of arranging gigs, with a few lined up already, so this isn't just some shitty zero-effort web label, we've actually got a live platform with which to showcase some serious talent.

this sounds excellent, iv always had a hope someone might be able to pull ih8bcore together in a way that i could get a bit more attention and this may be a good approach

id love to be part of this, i could get working on something for the compilation and i also have at least another 7 (plus or minus a few working projects) healthy songs towards another release. i could send a few songs now just as a "demo" i guess but there will be more to come

as for the label itself, i would like to get involved, if theres anything i can do down here in southern cali just let me know

It's about time, fair play for organising this djthewesleysnipes! I was thinking there kinda needs to be a "best(worst) of Ihatebreakcore.com", so that'll be wicked. I'll definately send you my next "collection of tracks" in a few months.

You gonna give feedback to the people whose demos get "rejected"?
just memes and donks these days

Divtech > Deffo send us some stuff mate, your last EP thing was really promising. As for label activity, we're based in Manchester England at the moment. However, going on from what I was originally saying about getting Marrionete/I H8 Breakcore crews there is definitely things people can do to help out. When this compilation is ready to be unleashed I can submit artwork and the zips to regional organisers who can in turn burn their own copies and distribute this stuff at every party they attend. If there is strong enough interest in specific areas, there may even be entire crews who want to organise their own nights and use the Marionette/I h8 Breakcore name. This could really take off as there is a whole heap of folk who operate independantly worldwide but have no real online hub through which to get in touch with like-minded people. Sure there is the C8 forum which is about as active as a paralysed Clam, but for the most part there are random crews of people from Canada to Bulgaria who have no extended network of friends to exchange ideas with. This website is pretty multinational, all it takes is a bit of interest and dedication from everyone.

S2k08 > Not sure if I will give specific feedback yet. The thing is, on the one hand me and Marionette will be sifting through the tracks and making the final decisions, but at the same time I'm not sure whether I feel qualified enough to tell people what they should be doing differently. Sounds totally hypocritical I know, perhaps some sort of feedback could be workable, i'm just really concerned with how to word it because I don't want to hurt people's feelings. I know in the past i've received some pretty rude responses from some labels, but i've also received some very polite rejections. I don't want to mention any label names, but some of the larger Hardcore labels in Holland can be really fucking harsh when replying. A simple "we're not interested at this time" would do, but sometimes they forget that their shitty 4 on the floor Gabber anthems aren't exactly Jimi Hendrix to begin with, and they get a bit too spiteful when firing down the little people. In conclusion, i'll do my best to give polite feedback if we turn a song down, just do your best and don't let anyone put you down.
