upgrade to windows 7???

Postby divtech » Tue Oct 27, 2009 5:57 am

so i have the chance to upgrade to windows 7 from vista on my laptop

does anyone have experience with the compatability with
-ableton
-vsts(such as glitch)
-flstudio
-anything else related

i think as this operating system gets a bit bigger we may see more and more of these types of threads so i just wanted to put it out there

Me and my flat mate have been running earlier versions of 7 for many months and it's much much nicer than vista, far less buggy like. I also have a free upgrade opportunity and i'm gonna use it I think.

I've been on 7 for a few months now, it's lovely, although when i upgraded from 7 trial to 7 full, i lost all my flp files, doubt that'll happen to anyone else though...

Renoise runs like a bag of shit on Windows 7. I have no idea why, but it does the same in Vista.

Back to XP for me.

i got a x64 version of w7... ableton works fine, but there are a few vst which doesn't work...

at first i got the problem that i had some kind of "a short lack of sound" every 20 sec. playing a loop e.g. - after deleting the vstplugin folder ableton works fine again.
then i just installed those vst which are really working. i don't know if this is a problem with the x64 version or win7 generally.
