Promote Breakcore
Other than ihatebreakcore, what are some good ways to promote your breakcore tunes? I have a myspace for my dubstep stuff, but im looking for some other ways to promote my music.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

don't do it on the internet i'd say. show it to your friends, their friends, maybe see if local bands like your stuff, breakcore and metal/punk go well together so you could maybe play some shows together... find other local producers of electronic music, trade records and all that stuff.
internet fame can only get you so far...

Ha, your avatar is from the black people love us website. Fucking loved that site.
i agree with the local comment
if the internet is your only choice however because you discovered breakcore via the internet and you have no friends aside from a few who only say they kinda like your music cuz theyre your friends but really they would never listen to it on their own.....
then i guess i could reccommend getting your music listed on lastfm cuz a bunch of people use it and it categorized music by things that are similar to it
i know theres an australian breakcore forum thats used as well
breakcore.com.au

Pester more established names to let you remix their songs and release them on a vinyl. Oh no my secret.
*note i've never actually done this however it might work.
Alternatively produce and host a sort of fame academy/pop idol/x-factor for electronic musicians.

the last.fm-thing *could* work out, prime example are the numerous lolicore-acts who built their own community there, but lolicore is kinda sick
negative examples are dj diabetes (never listened to that guy) or Chaos Royale (most underrated artist EVER!), though the latter one doesn't do breakcore (more a mixture of r'n'b, harsh noise, dubstep, crunk and dancehall... but mostly noise music).
let's put it this way: i am leader of quite a big breakcore-group (groups on lastfm suck though) and will promote your stuff as long as it's free. when i decide it really kicks ass (wouldnt bet on it though, no offense but i simply don't "feel" breakcore lately... no idea why
) i'll even bother my friends and their friends with it until every last one listens to it

it's called "i discovered breakcore, and now i can't sleep" ...
i'm not "using" or actually leading it anymore though... simply dont have the time and determination. if you'd like to you could take leadership, it has some nice options (like PM'ing every single member at once, which works well for download links to new *free* releases. make sure not to promote shit and ppl won't be annoyed, hooray!!!)
it's got about 380 members at the moment, that's a lot of spam-potential there!
