That looked like it would have been a sweet party. All pretty awesome, loved the range of samples you used. Any chance you could explain a little bit about your set up, like what software you were using etc? I'd love to get into live breakcore but I never really know where to start.
it was really fun. people danced in a half-pipe. the software was Max/MSP. Some samples are cut up breaks, some are samples of individual drum hits, some are acapellas, some synthesis, some friends music, etc. etc.
the box is a midi controller (like a keyboard) that controls the patch that i made in Max/MSP.

Hmmm, I thought it would be something complicated like Max/MSP. Oh well, guess that's another thing I'll have to learn how to use then.
i don't know if Max/MSP is a good place to start. it worked for me because i was already using it for other things. lots of people do cool stuff with ableton live, and that program will let you map midi to control things. the learning curve isn't so steep either. i hear that reaktor is pretty cool too.
i think that you should only program stuff yourself when you cant find something that does what you want already.
