I've just got it but I haven't played it since I installed it. I played through the game on the original build and it was pretty buggy at times so any improvement on that will be fine by me. I was just about to start it again but my housemate forced me to by Company of Heroes off of Steam so I'm stuck on that at the mo. Damn Steam, I'm gonna fail my degree because of the bastard!

Heh, they banned Steam and online gaming on our network, so I was stuck playing offline games such as Stalker and C&C 3. I've just found Sterlock's stash and i'm through to the power plant, but i'm extremely low on ammo again which was rather stupid of me.

So, despite all the similarities, the NAME of the game, the geographical setting of the game, the identical plot premise between the novel and the game, the wikipedia article which notes the influences on the game, the fact that GSC (Not to mention THQ) have repeatedly stated that the game is losely based on the game.....despite all of this, are you honestly trying to tell me that the game the film have absolutely nothing to do with one another and that ALL OF THE SIMILARITES noted above are purely coincidental?
Damm man, there is some seriously stubborn ignorance here, even with the game's own designers informing us of the influences you'll swear otherwise. It would be like me refusing to acknowledge that Australia actually exists.
You've been to Chernobyl? Well done, you win the prize, vsting Chernobyl gives you automatic authority over a film and a game that you evidently know nothing about.

And please, cut out the anti-English rhetoric, i'd be tempted to crack a joke about all the Ukranian fall out rotting your brain cells but then that would be stooping to your level.

It's not difficult. A simple google search came up with this: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=171458

But then again, you can prove anything with facts...

Just completed Half Life 2: Episode 2, a bit short again like Episode 1 but enjoyable nevertheless.

I'm going through a bit of an old school phase. A prize to the first person who can name these games without cheating.

syndicate wars one of em? The first looks familar but the name slips me. I'll play some strat type games once in a blue moon. I've been wanting to play some old school scorched earth and wasteland here lately.

Scorched earth, was that the one where you flew around ferrying refugees from zombie infested towns in to big star gates? With giant wasps to shoot on the way?

If so, that was incredible, and the soundtrack sounded just like the incidental music from Terminator 2.

On a semi-related note, STALKER: Clear Sky is coming out soon. Looks pretty incredible.
