Does anyone else draw/write/make something besides sound?
Okay so a couple of years ago during the last year of highschool I got into making zines
I was thinking of starting again, then just now I thought "I should make a fucking breakcore zine" but since dick all live shows happen in my area I thought I would turn to IHBC for collaborators
I was thinking we could just share files, things could be done digitally, or by hand and scanned, or however the fuck and whatever we want
Then if everyone (presumably also in diverse locadtions) had the raw files, we could just print/staple them
Maybe?
I mean I don't know about most of you, but I'm on a university campus five days a week and people here are pretentious enough to "appreciate" anything obscure that comes under their nose, so I'd like to at least use their malleability for the greater good

taggers could make headings & shit that needed lettering
even going to a show & writing about it would be useful in a breakcore zine

I tried several times in various places to muster some interest in a Breakcore zine. It largely failed because A) Nobody was serious enough about it, or well versed in the history of Breakcore (as snobbish as that sounds) to be competent in writing anything of any interest, and B) working to set issues is problematic in such an irregular and sporadic scene (we can go for months without hearing a serious new release worth writing about). There is, in my opinion, dwindling fresh talent (and hence too much unoriginal and poorly produced bedroom music) to warrant ultra-regular issues.
To make this work we'd need to make sure we weren't setting regular release schedules (i.e don't make it monthly or quarterly etc, just press an issue once there is enough material to fill one). We'd also need to find a way to scan the whole thing and make it downloadable cus paper copies alone would seriously limit distribution to the localities of the few and scattered contributors who could even be motivated to print copies.

i think djtheblade is right about not having regular issues and aboiut a digital format- we could just made a pdf
we should take a roll-call of who's in
we should also come up with a name
it would be cool to start with an issue establishing historical context for breakcore and explaining the aesthetic
when submitting your name for roll-call, maybe state what you'd like to do too
what do you guys think?
