Dont get me wrong, I like Ebola (prefer the early stuff) and some of Cardopushers stuff but you have got to admit it is just gabba kicks and amens! to class them as "greats" is a bit strong.

Personally anyone who is "great" in my opinion needs to have there own sound, feeling and has contributed in more ways than just music ie Christoph Fringelli, Frank Rotator, Simon Underground, Hellfish, Squarepusher, AFX & the list goes on. .......

The problem is too many people making music they think other people wanna hear, if you are making music for that reason to sound like " breakcore" then stop. Make music cus you enjoy it and fuck what fits into a genre.

right, i maybe should have added an 'imo' for that first comment. Also, those were the first three names that came to mind who now make clubstep and used to make interesting music imo.

I couldnt agree more with the rest of your comment though.

Thanks for putting me up there with those guys :D im honoured

I'd make more breakcore if you guys all bought my t-shirt for $20

just sayin.

i got a brain full of noise and breaks, but id rather make dubstep that gets me gigs where i can make more than $100 a night and have sex with occasional groupies. once you get to a level where you can start making money from music, you kinda lose that "FUCK EVERYONE IM GONNA MAKE MUSIC TO SHOW OTHER PRODUCERS HOW MUCH THEY SUCK" vibe and start getting that "I'm gonna respect people who are making more money than me, and try and make as much money as them" vibe.

i know it sucks and i know you all hate me, but thats ok. my goal is to someday get enough consistent income so i can make breakcore as a hobby again. nothing makes me happier than melting people's faces with massive drums and noise.

FUCK...

YOU!

The recession hurts everybody. Dr. Dre selling Dr. Pepper, Horse Force making dubstep to make ends meet, babies eating babies just to get the strength to eat another baby...

I hope I never get to the point where i'm charging lots of money to play Massive wobble presets and the same tired half-step, no offense to Dubstep fans on here, but i'm slowly finding my own style at the mo and so long as I keep my day job i'm happy playing Lytton-Core.

I can't agree more with Greg Meatsweeper though about finding your own sound; ultimately the greats are gonna be remembered cus they pushed their own styles, who you gonna remember more in 20 years time?

Aphex twin or fucking Datsik?

Venetian Snares or Skrillex?

Squarepusher or Ajapai?

Please note at this point if you're only making music for the potential financial gains then this argument becomes null, fair play if you're just trying to earn end's meat. I'm lucky enough to have a day job like I say which can support me financially, so I can afford to make the music I really want to and not have to worry too much if it's never gonna make me money. But I tell you one thing, i'd rather try and make something unique in the off-chance that one day it'll be remembered and respected for being a bit different, than give up and just clone the most popular club genre of the moment (cough Scooter). Again, if you're doing it to earn a living then this aint aimed at you, but if you're financially stable and think you're music is "dirty" and "filthy" and that you're the most subversive bad ass on the planet, you're wrong. If you think you look cool cus you post pics of yourself on facebook smoking weed "backstage" then again, you're wrong. If you're making this Dubstep cus you think you wanna be an obnoxious superstar and hang around with Rusko and Dj wubble scribz wonkz then I probably won't want to ever meet you, and everyone wants to meet me so this is a huge loss on your part! This definitely isn't aimed at anyone on this forum by the way, but i've met a lot of folk who fit the above criteria to the very last detail. The most irritating aspect to a lot of this shit over the last few years is the image associated with the producers rather than the music itself, i've met enough cliché wiggers (who are all middle class white boys) who still think that smoking weed is cool and hard (rather than just a private lifestyle choice) to last me three lifetimes. At least in Breakcore everyone I met was an honest bum and didn't use the words Jah, blud and shank three times in every sentence.

Maybe if I end up unemployed one day i'll play the music I hate for money, I hope this never happens, but as it stands i'm currently getting better sex then I expect i'll ever get off impressionable Dubstep girls in trendy shirts and trucker caps any way. Once again I fucking win.

Get a day job you bastards!
Go to school
Wear Paisley
Say no to dope!

I'm going for a shit, brb

I suspect television audio producers have to craft music they detest every day of the week, cus it's their job. The occasional jingle might stimulate a slight notion of pride and satisfaction but I somehow get the feeling that Atomic Kitten weren't overly passionate about the dross that they were writing (performing), but who knows. All i'm saying is that i've got much bigger respect for the Eraserheads, the Ruby My dears and the Divtechs who are toying with some original ideas, at least subtly if not overtly, than the guys who are just producing straight up replication. I'll always have love for some generic dance music, but my biggest respect always goes to the originators and the progressors, they are the guys that truly evolve music.

Joure richt abouth most stuf. But I dont compare, comercial music with top of the pop, MTV bulshit.
Comercial music is crap. If jou want to have a fun read. Read this book.

T H E
M A N U A L
(HOW TO HAVE A NUMBER ONE THE EASY WAY)

Its a sarcastical documantation, of making a comercial song.
http://freshonthenet.co.uk/the-manual-by-the-klf/

It shows that all that jou need to make a number 1 song, is having a lot of mony from the bank.

Music for me is all about artistic freedom. I make what i feel like making and i dont even think about the genre or style while i'm creating a song.
It comes out like it comes out. Music should be about having fun and not about how many money you can make from it. Offcourse i would give up my dayjob anytime to have a proffesional music career but it would have to be for the music i am creating and not for what's the hot new thing.
No disrespect tho but create what you want to create for the satisfaction and not for the money or the girls (plenty of girls in breakcore and dark dnb here in belgium tho :p)

Pics... or it didn't happen! I disbelieve that the sausage ratio at any breakcore party anywhere is better than 5:1. This thread should be called "too many dudes not enough girls" ... ;P
