I love those guys, or atleast their early stuff. Everything before "Trollhammaren" is great.

I dig this band. theres some other folk metal band thats really good. enisferieum or something like that. great song called "raised by the sword".

It's 'Ensiferum'

They're a fantastic band - very fond of their music. You really ought to check out their self titled album (Ensiferum [2001]) if you haven't. At the risk of sounding like a fanboy, that album is a folk metal classic, and far superior to their later discography I think.

Agreed. The Trollhammaren EP and Nattfodd were pretty disappointing to me; Ur Jordens Djup was an improvement though - quite enjoyable, especially with songs like Nedgang, Slagbroder, and the quirky En Maktig Har. Even so, I'll take Midnattens Widunder over the rest any day.

Well, this is norwegian (or possibly danish) and I'm swedish. But I'll give it a shot.

Dei for ifra nord - They departed from the north
Mot ei anna tid - Towards another time
Bak låg brende ord - Back home layed burnt words
Framfor dei ei ny strid - In front of them a new battle

Dei såg stormar i det fjerne - They saw storms at the horizon
Men haldt fram og beint - ?
Inn mot jordas kjerne - In towards the core of the earth
Frå tidleg mot seint - From something towards something

The dead (?) grows upon the sea and shouts something towards land

They shout towards all ships, sailing slowly as they go by

The song is probably about Nagelfar, a ship filled with dead soldiers that sets sail at signs of the apocalypse to wage war on the gods of northern mythology.

They are good fun live. Its nice to go to gigs where metalheads are actually smiling and dancing, not just trying to out-metal each other.

I so strongly agree with that right there. I went and saw Nightwish a few months ago - one of the best metal acts I've seen, because they were having so much fun up on stage, and they were making it fun for the crowd. It was a good time.
